Mark Bin Bakar is a sound recordist, composer, television/film writer, director and
producer. He has had a number of projects screened on national television that he wrote
and directed. These include a major cultural showcase broadcast live on national televison
across Australia and simulcast with a national radio network. Mark has sat on the
Australian Film Television & Radio School board and is a founding member of the
Screenwest Indigenous Advisory group. Mark has also advocated for the recording of oral
history which has seen fruition through a state project to record stories with the FTI and
Screenwest.
Mark is a visionary and has a keen insight into using television and film as a means of
getting the messages across from a corporate and commercial level where a client wishes
to educate and stimulate using positive wellbeing/health messages or just making simple,
successful TV commercials.
The gift in Mark to create and write material that stimulates thought and makes people
laugh and smile is his genius. To then incorporate this into video/film or any other media
is his magic. Mark has written, directed and at times starred in numerous corporate and
commercial videos that have seen state and national broadcast.
Mark conceived and created the successful Mary G TV Show, two series with 6 episodes
each that grasp the Australian nation live on national broadcast and are regularly
rescreened on SBS as Australia's first Aboriginal variety show. Mark is an accomplished
film maker and he is just scratching the surface in creating new and greater products.
